HickoryTech Opens New Data Center

The company says that the secure facility is available to businesses to host their data, off-site storage, disaster recovery servers and networking gear. The Mankato data center offers, cooling, fire suppression and dedicated UPS with generator back-up. It further says that the data center is configured with secured 45U cabinets and is available in a variety of customizable configurations for business customers.

The company explains that the secure, environmentally controlled and monitored facility is staffed around the clock and is available to customers. Customers can rent dedicated floor space, full secured cabinets, or fractional rack space. The company claims that it offers a complement of connectivity options, telecommunication services and interconnects. It adds that the Mankato data center features dual-path fiber optic Sonet network paths, ensuring a vailable connectivity, also from its data centers, customers can access tier-one ISPs and virtually national carrier.

“HickoryTech is unique in Minnesota in offering two separate geographically diverse data centers, which are connected with our highly redundant, high-bandwidth fiber network,” said John Morton, president of HickoryTech’s Business Solutions division. “Customers can leverage either or both facilities, plus our services and expertise to create their own redundant private clouds for business applications and services.
