ServePath Partners with R1soft

September 10th, 2008

(www.WebHosting.Info)   ServePath, a managed services provider, today announced that it has partnered with R1Soft, a developer of Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology, to offer managed data backup service to clients hosted in its San Francisco, Calif. private data center facility.

The company claims that the clients with dedicated servers will be able to utilize data backup service, offering disk-based data backup that eliminates the threat of data loss. R1Soft’s technology also provides protection for busy MySQL databases by continually monitoring for changes and updating the most recent restore point. The company further states that it will replace its existing managed backup service with R1Soft’s CDP technology, available for both Linux and Windows platforms and clients will pay a small setup fee for each server and a variable monthly fee, depending upon the amount of data they wish to back up.

”Our team evaluated other backup offerings from a variety of vendors, but R1Soft has consistently stood out with its Continuous Data Protection technology, allowing us to offer our customers near-continuous backups of their servers. In addition, R1Soft was one of the only vendors that supported a heterogeneous environment of Windows and various flavors of Linux—a feature that allows us to comprehensively deploy this technology in our facility,” said Telemachus Luu, Director Production Engineering for ServePath.

”As an R1Soft Hosting Partner, ServePath will benefit from greater exposure and more direct access to our development and marketing teams. We look forward to working with ServePath as partners in the coming months and years, as ServePath continues to put a greater focus on our data protection technology,” said David Wartell, vice president of R1Soft, a division of BBS Technologies, Inc.
